A winning team needs a good coach. And that's exactly what Department Manager Dennis Helmer brings to the team at Nies Remodel. His attention to detail and vast experience in both residential and commercial building makes him a go-to guy when questions come up. He coaches the team to look beyond the small things and realize that with any project Nies Remodel touches, the end result is something that leaves a tangible impact on the lives of its clients. This kind of coaching has encouraged the team's experience and created a strong value that is brought to the table.

The Kansas-born leader received his degree in construction science from Kansas State University and has more than 40 years of hands-on experience in the field. By watching the ever-changing industry, Dennis has found his niche through the creativity involved with design-build projects. He makes an impact. And his clients immediately recognize his hard work and dedication.

When he's not coaching his work team, you'll find him on the field coaching his youth sports teams, which he's done for more than 26 years. Or shouting at the TV during a K-State basketball or football game. Or better yet, enjoying some quality vacation time with his family.

Ed Sims began his career in construction as a framer. But soon branched out into all phases of construction. He learned what made a good product. And when the job was complete, Ed felt the satisfaction of knowing the job was done right.

This goal of satisfaction has carried over into his career as manager with Nies Remodel. For more than 25 years, his clients have come to know and depend on Ed's knowledge of the industry and the current trends. No matter what the scope of work, Ed isn't afraid to challenge himself to think outside the box. And he encourages his team to do the same.

Raising six kids - three girls and three boys - has also kept Ed refreshed on maintaining schedules. All of his kids were involved in some type of sports. And you could find him proudly cheering them on or helping shuttle them to practice. His passion for construction rubbed off on two of his boys as they are now superintendents with Nies Remodel.

His sense of satisfaction takes him home to his shop, where you'll find him working on his latest hot rod or researching the next car show. Because, as you know, there's nothing better than getting out and seeing what a '33 Ford Roadster can really do.

When it comes to adventure, Greg Rupp doesn't back away. Nies Remodel's project manager challenges himself with developing the ideal custom remodel for his client. And he schedules the entire project, from start to finish. Want to know what’s next on the check list? He’s your man.

This Wichita-born native has watched the local housing industry evolve. Born to parents always looking to make changes to their own home, he experienced first-hand what needs to be done to complete a successful remodel. Plus being a general contractor and builder himself, he's not afraid to get his hands dirty if that means getting a project done on time. And on budget, as he's also an accountant.

If he's not in the office or thinking about ways to make a remodel better, you can guarantee to find Greg enjoying the outdoors, either fishing for that record-breaking trout, hitting the trail on a mountain bike or behind the boat perfecting his water skiing skills.
